The question of where you stand (beliefs) gets as many answers as there are people, sometimes more. I recently found this site that allows anybody to make a statement of belief and back it up or not. As a registered user you can select whether you agree or disagree with it and why. Following are some of the statements i found interesting to me, so far as how far away from reality Christianity has allowed itself to come.
1) “If Christianity is accepted it must be in spite of science, not because of it.”
2) “Humans create God, not the other way around.”
3) “The concept of God is a tool for managing people.”
I find it very interesting that Christians have allowed themselves to lose sight of the logic and reason behind what they believe. It is my belief that, “all natural things have a supernatural explaination” just as i believe that “all supernatural things have a natural explanation”. Obviously we have not been able to find these explanations for all things, yet, but what I find is that we (Christians) have almost lost the desire to find it. Instead we seek to convince people of our beliefs by attributing all things not-understood to the Holy Spirit or another supernatural catch-all.
The book “Love your God with all your mind” seeks to encourage Christians to see logic and reason as a valid part of their faith. It is a well written book that really gets the mind going and helps you understand how faith and logic can be used together.
